What have we done to deserve the suffering?
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The trials of the saints have been many, but the victory is assured.
Here is a "Word of Wisdom" gleaned from the writings of a forerunner of
this present Move of the Spirit, offered as a word of encouragement to
all who are going through "something":
"When trials come our first inclination is to ask what we have done to
deserve this, or why does God allow this to happen? It is the elect of
the Lord who have been selected by the Father to partake of the
sufferings of Christ through the trials and tribulations which He brings
into our lives, to prepare us for the glory which shall be revealed..
There is a vast variety of events in our everyday lives uniquely designed
to test every area the Lord would put His hand on. Don't think that you
have to suffer dramatic things like martyrdom or twenty years in a
rat-infested prison in order for God to accomplish His work. Each of us
have a unique set of tests and trials to go through to build the
character of Christ in us.
Your trials have not been harder than mine, just different. We are
distinct members of the Christ body, and the Lord's processings for each
one varies according to His purpose in us, and the place we are destined
to fill."
Be encouraged. Keep-on-keeping-on. The best is yet to come!
