Agnosticism ’s Worldview Of Authority

What is a cult?

The only sure way to avoid being deceived by a cult.

Agnosticism ’s Worldview of Authority:

Agnostics assume rationalism (that the human mind can make up truth without the benefit of revelation or observation) and see that assumption (rationalism) as their primary authority.

Agnostics tend to follow the same lines of authority as Humanists follow.

Agnostics try to lump divine revelation in with their own sad state of having no foundation.  A favorite phrase of Agnostics is, “The Bible was written by men, so it has errors.”  However, there is a huge difference between that which is based on God’s own voice and that which is based in human supposition / speculation.    The reason Agnostics make the effort to make their own minds equal with the Bible is that they want to do their own thing their own way.  They certainly don't want to do things God's way.

In many ways, Agnostics try to stuff spiritual things into their materialistic assumptions, hoping no one will notice the trick.  They compare spiritual things and even Almighty God to physical things being ignorant of the foolishness of such a comparison.

Biblical Christianity’s Vision of Authority:

To compare Agnosticism to Biblical Christianity, go hereTo compare Agnosticism's worldview of authority to the vision of Biblical authority which is given to Scriptural Christianity, go here.

The Bible is the authoritative document that God has provided.  No one has ever found an error in the Bible, though many have rationalized an error into the Bible.  Many have pointed out their imagined errors, but over the years that the Bible has been in existence, no one has found an actual error.

The big mistake that Christians sometimes make is to try to use rationalism to understand the Bible.  The Bible can only be understood by the revelation that comes from the Spirit of God.  Christians need to come to God through Jesus Christ, and allow the Holy Spirit to unfold and reveal the truth that is in the Bible.  The biblical order of the church was given as a safeguard to the doctrine.  Though very few Christians accept the biblical order of the church, there are a few, a remnant, who do follow the scriptural pattern of apostles, elders, and deacons with gifts and ministries imparted by the laying on of hands of the presbytery and prophecy.  Some don’t enter in because God has not led them to a God-ordained body.  Some don’t enter in because they have rejected the order sent by God.  Some don’t enter in because they have followed a false prophet or a false apostle.

Human beings are spirit, mind, and body.  Christians have been joined to the Holy Spirit and are actually seated in heavenly places (the ayr) with Jesus.  In our spirits, we are having a wonderful experience.  The battle is now for the mind.  Satan is trying to keep our attention with entertainments, fleshly desires, problems that appear to be looming, and many other distractions.  God desires to reveal the truth that is in the Bible to His people.

Christians don’t worship the Bible.  We worship the God of the Bible.  The God of the Bible reveals Himself to us through the Bible and through many other means.  The Bible is a guide to the Christian.  When a Christian thinks that he or she has a revelation from God or a leading from God, one of the first checks that Christian should do is to see if the leading is in line with the Bible.  If it conflicts with the Bible, it is not of God.
