Don't Some Theologians And Scholars Say That There Were Only 12 Apostles And That Is All There Will Ever Be?
Much of Christendom is invested in flesh-generated orders and rituals. If a man or woman has an investment in a flesh-generated church system, that person ought not to resist God when God tries to correct the disorder. These flesh-generated orders and rituals are many and varied. Among them are the extra-Biblical systems for governing the Church. Denominations have presidents, boards, and all manner of flesh-generated, extra-Biblical methods. Non-denominational denominations have other methods. The Bible only recognizes one method, and Ephesians tells us that God’s method will be here until we all come in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, until we come in such unity that we come as one totally complete man, until we come to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. History also tells us that there was a succession of apostles for many years, but someone got a better idea. Flesh-generated better ideas always make the church irrelevant. We need to stick to the pattern that God gave. Author/Compiler: Bob Stenson (unless otherwise noted) Last updated: 2009-01-08 21:26:06 - Next |
