Human Potential Movement’s Worldview of Ethics, Values, and Morals:
HPM doesn’t realize that the salvation that is available only through Jesus Christ and His work on the cross, and that salvation brings good thoughts, words, and actions by the power of the Spirit of God.
It misses the understanding of the need to submit to God so that God can do His works through them.
HPM thinks that each person can develop his or her "human potential", and this development will bring exceptional quality of life filled with happiness, creativity, and fulfillment. HPM thinks that those who begin to unleash their assumed "potential" will tend to help others to release their potential and that people won’t be selfish, greedy, or mean. (It doesn’t work out this way in real life for HPM adherents. In fact, HPM tends to encourage childish narcissism.) |
