Liberalism Definition
lib·er·al·ism n.
- The state or quality of being liberal.
- A political theory founded on the natural goodness of humans and the autonomy of the individual and favoring civil and political liberties, government by law with the consent of the governed, and protection from arbitrary authority.
- An economic theory in favor of laissez-faire, the free market, and the gold standard.
"A political theory founded on the natural goodness of humans," but Jesus said, "There's none good but God." Many Scriptures say that there is not a just man on earth, there is not even one who does good. This theory is based on no evidence at all. As with the theory of evolution, the theory of liberalism is based on a simple-minded declaration.
". . . autonomy of the individual and favoring civil and political liberties," and yet it is the liberals who are trying to take away liberty to declare faith in God. The only liberty they seem to be favoring is the liberty to be free from God and His righteousness.
" . . . government by law with the consent of the governed," although, in the United States, the liberals are very much into coercion and ultimate power over the individual. They like the idea of law with the consent of the governed so long as they can control all the media and all the education and all the grant money.
" . . . protection from arbitrary authority." This meaning has no relationship to liberal thought in the 21st century.
"An economic theory in favor of laissez-faire, the free market, and the gold standard." This is a lie. The liberals seek to restrict the market. They seek socialism if they can't have communism. They seek that which has repeatedly lead to totalitarianism and oppression.
Recently, the power of the liberal press has been brought to bear by reversing this definition. Now, according to the press, in America, a liberal pushes for creating more people who depend on the government and are not independent, but in the former Soviet Union, a liberal is just the opposite. This introduces a confusion to the discussion. The press is made up of professional communicators and persuaders. It would be inconceivable that they would create such a confusion by accident. They also have begun calling the pro-communists forces, "conservatives" in the former Soviet Union. Yet, the conservatives in the United States are anti-communist, while the liberals have been pro-communist in the United States. In a similar way, they have tried to say that Adolf Hitler, a communist, was right wing. But right wing is the term that means anti-Communist and left wing is the term that means communist. Left wing is a synonym for liberal.
Liberalism refers to the tenets of the New Age religion. These tenets are also known as the new morality or political correctness. Proponents of the New Age religion aren’t required to follow all the tenets, but they choose the ones they want. In fact, the prime commandment of the New Age is, "Do as thou wilt." The various tenets are not required to be consistent with each other. New Age zealots have no problem believing two or more diametrically opposed ideas at the same time. In fact this inconsistency is considered to be very "intellectual." New Age gurus can change the tenets at any time, and various gurus can have quite widely divergent tenets.
In theological circles, the term, liberalism, is sometimes applied to those who pick and choose which parts of the Bible they will accept. It is also applied to the tendency to add rationalized speculation to the Bible truth.
