New Age Movement’s Worldview of the Solution to the Basic Human Problem:

The New Age Movement teaches that people need to overcome lack of perception by using techniques to change (transform) consciousness.

Many trance states are used, including hypnosis.

 New Agers attempt to attain enlightenment by stepping outside ordinary modes of perception and experimenting with altered states of consciousness that dispel illusory boundaries of individual existence.

Much of this is related to demon possession or obsession, but uses New Age terms such as meditation, neurolinguistics, or autogenics.

New Agers hope for the dawning of a New Age of heightened consciousness and international peace. Individuals can obtain a foretaste of the New Age through spiritual transformation ("Ascension").

Astrology; mysticism; use of crystals; yoga; tarot readings; holistic medicine; psychic abilities; angelic communications; channeling; amulets; fortune-telling.
