Can I Ever Be Freed From Satan's Slavery & My Own Bondage Without Jesus?
1 John 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
You can see by this that it is not the fleshly self who is born of God. The fleshly self cannot be reformed. The fleshly self must be die--we must die to self and live to Jesus.
The Christ Who is born within us is the one who cannot sin.
The old nature cannot do anything but sin.
We have the old nature, so we have sin, but we don't identify with the old nature. Once you have received Christ as your Savior, you are born from above. Once that birth has happened, you must never again think of yourself as the old fleshly self. You rightly acknowledge that the old self has died. Now, you only recognize yourself as the ministry--the Christ Who is living within you. Christ cannot sin. Christ always loves. Love never breaks any of the commandments. When our old fleshly self tells us to sin, we have no obligation to obey it. We obey the living Christ within us. And the Holy Spirit is given so we have power both to will and to do His good pleasure.
1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
