Is The Da Vinci Code To Be Taken Seriously?
The Da Vinci Code is merely fiction and not to be taken seriously. The author has advised Christians to lighten up, since it's only fiction. Since it is only fiction, anyone who reads this book thinking there is some historical accuracy in it is living in a dream world. Allowing fiction to have an influence on one's life is neurotic, isn't it?
It is very likely that the author thought that he could do damage to Christ through this book, but the book is just poorly written fiction with an exciting, but logically and historically flawed, storyline. By attacking Christ and His Church, the author was able to make millions from a mediocre book. This book obviously and radically distorts history and has no factual basis--even though the promoters of the book claim it is historically accurate. If you are concerned, there are several books in Christian book stores that tell where the book is out of the realm of the sane. The reason it is so well received is that there are many who have rejected Christ and His righteousness--they love darkness rather than light. These lovers of evil are also lovers of the Da Vinci Code.
This book fits in with the promotions of such ideas as evolutionism, liberalism, communism, and atheism. It is anti-Christ, just like those ideas.
