The Way International’s Worldview of the Solution to the Basic Human Problem:

The followers of The Way International say that speaking in tongues is the manifestation of spiritual maturity and evidence of a renewed mind and sinless perfection.  They earn their salvation rather than depending solely on Jesus.  They say that only the members of their group will be saved.

This is in contrast to the Bible, which says that speaking in the unknown tongue is a free gift for the purpose of building up the individual Christian.  The baptism of the Holy Spirit is not given because you are holy but because you are needy.  It is not given because you have attained something but as one of many gifts that are given to help a Christian grow to maturity.

The Way International makes no differentiation between speaking in the unknown tongue and the tongues of men that may be interpreted.
