There Is Only One Thing That Will Satisfy.

There are many big lies in this world, and one such big lie is this: pleasure = satisfaction. Everyone who has tried to become satisfied by pleasure is aware of this big lie. They have come up empty. They may even be continuing on their fruitless quest for satisfaction through pleasure, but they know that they have come up without pleasure repeatedly. If they get realistic, they will know that they will experience the same in the future.

There is only one place where satisfaction can be found.

The Bible says that there is pleasure in sin, but this pleasure is short-lived and it does not give satisfaction. You can know that from both experience and the Word of God.

This lie is repeated in many ways. The enemy of our souls is the teller of the lie. He just plugs in another word before the equals sign. He says, to some, "Comfort = satisfaction." To others, he says, "Success = satisfaction." For others, he says that possessions, prestige, a new car, a new house, a new wife, or whatever all equal satisfaction.

But we know this, we will be satisfied when we awake with His likeness (Psalm 17:15). God shows us this, and since I realized it, there are many things that have lost their fascination for me. It's as if the Spirit says, "There is no satisfaction there."

Psalm 17:15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

This is the climax. We will finally awake with His likeness. We now behold His face, to a degree. Eventually, we will behold His face in perfection and complete righteousness. On that day, we will be transfigured to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. Until that day, we experience His glory and likeness to a degree if we walk in the Spirit. We find ourselves being built up from glory to glory and from faith to faith according to the pattern that He has showed us in the Scripture.

Psalm 65:4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach to thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

Proverbs 19:23 The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

Jeremiah 31:14 And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the LORD.

Jeremiah 31:14 And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the LORD.

Joel 2:26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.

Amos 4:8 So two or three cities wandered to one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned to me, saith the LORD.

Psalm 90:14 O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

Psalm 91:16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Psalm 103:2-5 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Psalm 107:8-9 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

Ephesians 4:10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Colossians 2:9-10 For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

Colossians 4:12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

Psalm 145:19 He will fulfill the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

On the other hand, there is no satisfaction in earthly things. Human beings were never designed to be satisfied by earthly things.

Proverbs 27:20 Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.

Ecclesiastes 1:8 All things are full of labor; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.

Ecclesiastes 5:10 He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.

Isaiah 9:20 And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:

Ezekial 16:28 Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.

God Has Restored Much That Is Necessary So That The Church Can Come Into The Fullness.
