Unity School of Christianity’s Worldview of Authority:
The Bible is used as authority, but only as interpreted (added to and subtracted from) by the Fillmores.
Charles (1854-1948) & Myrtle (1845-1931) Fillmore studied Spiritualism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Brahmanism, Rosicrucianism, Theosophy, New Thought, Christian Science, and other Mind Science religions because they believed that there was some good in every religion. They had a fascination with the occult, so much of their authority is occult authority.
They declared that the Bible had an outer (literal) meaning & an inner (metaphysical) meaning, and they also valued other writings. This allowed them to interpret the Bible and get the meaning they wanted.
