Argument to the Future / Escape to the Future

Whenever a logical fallacy is committed, the fallacy has its roots in Agrippa's trilemma. All human thought (without Divine revelation) is based on one of three unhappy possibilities. These three possibilities are infinite regression, circular reasoning, or axiomatic thinking. This is known as Agrippa's trilemma. Some have claimed that only logic and math can be known; however, that is not true. Without Divine revelation, neither logic nor math can be known. Science is limited only to pragmatic thinking because of the weakness of human reasoning, which is known as Agrippa's trilemma. Argument to the future, a form of axiomatic thinking, is one of these three unhappy possibilities.

The Argument to the Future / Escape to the Future occurs when a conclusion is supported by evidence that will "surely" be discovered in the future. This is a variation of appeal to false prophecy. Often, this will take the form of stating that science will discover the solution to a certain problem with a favored theory.

Examples of Argument to the Future / Escape to the Future

"We don't have any real evidence that molecules turned into people over time, but science will be able to show that in the future."

This will happen by making up better stories, no doubt.
