1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Keep in mind that love fulfills all the commandments.  The entire law can be summed up in the one word, love, but it so important that we are not deceived.  There are many lies about love.  We need to know what love truly is.

The sure way to create a self-righteous hypocrite is to give that person a law that is so watered down that that law can be fulfilled by human effort.  That is how the Secular Humanists became hypocritical and self-righteous.  That is why unbelievers revel in finding some fault with Christians.  They have no concept of what love is.  The do not understand the law of God.
