1 Timothy 1:18 This charge I commit to thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;

The weapons of our warfare are not carnal.  These are weapons of the Spirit.

Paul was part of the presbytery that prayed and prophesied over Timothy, imparting spiritual gifts to equip him for his ministry:
