Second letter of Peter to the church. 1. things to add to faith to partake of the divine nature and escape corruption, make your election sure, and never fall--eye-witness account of the transfiguration experience, Christ's coming (abiding presence/parousia)--scripture's sure Light 2. warning against false teachers and false prophets: sensual, greedy, self-willed, openly opposed to things they don't understand 3. the last days: mockers, denying creation, denying the flood, denying the coming judgment--God is not willing that any should perish--thief in the night, intense heat--what that means to your whole manner of living--righteousness: grow in grace
