Timothy was an apostle with the office of a traveling deacon to the entire church, and he had the ministry of an evangelist. Timothy is named among the apostles and he is an evangelist. It is obvious that Paul, the elder, is directing Timothy's work as a deacon, but both were apostles, sent by God as traveling ministries:
- 2 Timothy 4:5 "But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry."

Apostles are given the responsibility of protecting the entire flock of God from the attack of the enemy, but with so many voices in
the world, each one claiming to be the one that should be listened to, how can you know? You are responsible to be close enough to God
so that you can tell the difference between false apostles and real apostles.
