Did Abram's (Abraham) prior line of decedents originally descend from the land of Canaan long before the flood of Noah and after him and his father lived in Ur?

How would we know?  Speculation is not pleasing to God. Before Noah, the Bible says nothing of Canaan.  Was there a Canaan at that time?  If there was, would anything be left after the flood?  Probably not.

The flood would have probably changed the face of the planet considerably.  The size of the earth quakes before and after the flood as described in the Bible--we have never seen anything that even compares!  The volume of super-heated water that came up from under the earth would have covered much more land than was covered before the flood.  And the bulk of the sedimentary rock that exists today was deposited during the flood, burying millions of animals, plants, and people and creating the fossil record.   Then, after the flood, the mountains rose up and the valleys dropped down.  The Grand Canyon was just one of the landmarks that was formed in a very short time.

At the flood of Noah, the population was down to Noah and his three sons, and their wives.   So Noah's descendants were also Abram's descendants.  Abram's father, Terah, lived in Ur, as did Abram.  God called Abram out to Canaan, which was a type of the Kingdom of God.  But Abram became Abraham and never found an enduring city.  He is now among that great cloud of witnesses who are cheering on the sons of God waiting for the promise to be fulfilled.
