Self Christianity? Rather Die to Self and Live to Christ

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be destroyed so that from now on we should not serve sin.  For whoever is dead is freed from sin.  Now if we are dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him: Knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, dies no more; death has no more dominion over Him.  For in that He died, He died to sin once, but in that He lives, He lives to God.  Likewise also calculate yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Therefore, don't let sin reign in your mortal body, increasingly listening to its commands and obeying it in its desire for forbidden things.  Neither yield your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin: but yield yourselves to God, as those who are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.  For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under divine power for righteousness, holiness, and redemption.  What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under divine power for righteousness, holiness, and redemption? God forbid.  Don't you know that to whom you yield yourselves servants into obedience, you are servants to whatever you obey, whether you obey sin into death, or you obey into righteousness?Thank God for divine power for righteousness, holiness, and redemption.  You were the servants of sin, but you have obeyed, from the innermost mind, that form of doctrine into which you were delivered.  Being then made free from sin, you became the servants of righteousness. Romans 6:6-18

For you are dead, and your genuine and absolute fullness of life is hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ, Who is our genuine and absolute fullness of life, shall visible, then appearing you shall also be made visible with Him in glory.  Mortify therefore your members which are upon the Earth; fornication, uncleanness, afflictions of the mind, evil desires for forbidden things, and covetousness, which is idolatry:  For which things' sake the wrath of God comes on the mature son of obstinate opposition to God's will.  In which you also walked some time when you lived in them.  But now you also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.  Don't lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his deeds;  And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him Who created him.  Colossians 3:3-10

Therefore, brothers, we don't owe a debt to the flesh to live directed by and drawn toward the flesh.  For if you live directed by and drawn toward the flesh, you shall die. But if you, through the Spirit, put the deeds of the body to death, you shall live.  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the mature sons of God.  For you have not received the spirit of bondage again into fear; but you have received the Spirit of mature sonship, by which we cry, Abba, Father.  The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified together.  For I understand the reality that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be unveiled into us.  For the earnest expectation of the creation waits for the unveiling of the mature sons of God.  For the creation was made subject to frailty, not willingly, but by reason of Him who has subjected the same in divine expectation,  Because the creation itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.  For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now.  And not only they, but ourselves also, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, which is the release from bondage of our body.  For we are saved by divinely inspired expectation, but divinely inspired expectation that is seen is not divinely inspired expectation, for what a person sees, why would that person yet have divinely inspired expectation for it?  But if we have divinely inspired expectation for what we don't see, then we wait for it with patience.  Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered.  And He Who searches the innermost minds knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.  And we know that all things are working together progressing into good in those who love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  For whom he did foreknow, he also did appoint ahead of time to be conformed to the image of his Mature Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers.  But whom He did appoint ahead of time, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified.  Romans 8:12-30

I beg you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.  And don't be conformed to this age, but be transfigured by the renewing of your mind so that you may test what is that good, and well-pleasing, and complete, will of God.  Romans 12:1-2

so that you put off whatever is concerning the former whole manner of life according to the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful desire for forbidden things.  And be made new in your spirit and your mind. *  And that you put on the New Man, Who, after God, is created in righteousness and true holiness. * Ephesians 4:22-24

And whoever doesn't take his or her cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.  Whoever finds his or her soul life shall lose it: and he who loses his soul life for My sake shall find it. Matthew 10:38-39

Then said Jesus to his disciples, If any man desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.  For whoever desires to save his soul life shall lose it: and whoever will lose his soul life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul life? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul life?  Matthew 16:24-26

And when He had called the people to Him with His disciples also, He said to them, "Whoever desires to come after Me, let that person deny self, and take up that person's cross, and follow Me.  For whoever desires to save their soul life shall lose it; but whoever shall lose their soul life for My sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.  Mark 8:34-35

And He said to them all, If anyone desires to come after Me, let that person deny himself or herself, and take up his or her cross daily, and follow Me.  For whoever desires to save his or her soul life shall lose it: but whoever will lose his or her soul life for My sake, the same shall save it.  Luke 9:23-24

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, yes, and his own soul life also, he cannot be my disciple.  And whoever does not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.  Luke 14:26-27

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, uncomplaining patience, gentleness, goodness, faith,  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. * *  And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and desire for forbidden things.  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.  Galatians 5:22-25

For this is divine power for righteousness, holiness, and redemption, if a person for conscience toward God endures grief, suffering wrongfully.  For what glory is it, if, when you be buffeted for your faults, you shall take it patiently? But if, when you do well, and suffer for it, you take it patiently, this is divine power for righteousness, holiness, and redemption from God.  For to this were you called, because Christ also allowed for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow his steps Who did no sin, nor was guile found in His mouth, Who, when He was reviled, reviled not again; when He suffered, He didn't threaten, but committed Himself to Him Who judges righteously, Who His Own Self carried our sins in His Own Body on the tree so that we, being dead to sins, should live to righteousness: by Whose stripes you were healed.  For you were as sheep going astray; but are now returned to the Shepherd and Bishop of your soul lives. 1 Peter 2:19-25
