Escape Via Ignorance

Escape Via Ignorance

Whenever a logical fallacy is committed, the fallacy has its roots in Agrippa's trilemma. All human thought (without Divine revelation) is based on one of three unhappy possibilities. These three possibilities are infinite regression, circular reasoning, or axiomatic thinking. This is known as Agrippa's trilemma. Some have claimed that only logic and math can be known; however, that is not true. Without Divine revelation, neither logic nor math can be known. Science is limited only to pragmatic thinking because of the weakness of human reasoning, which is known as Agrippa's trilemma. Excape via ignorance, a form of axiomatic thinking, is one of these three unhappy possibilities.

Escape Via Ignorance occurs when a case cannot be made rationally, but it is asserted that other people could or that there is evidence, but the debater just doesn't happen to know what it is.

Examples of Escape Via Ignorance

"I don't know the Bible, but, if I did, there are verses in there that prove my point, I am sure."

"I'm not a scientist, so I don't know the answer to your question, but the scientists know. Otherwise they wouldn't be so sure of themselves in believeing in Evolution [the Big-Bang-Billions-of-Years-No-Flood-Molecules-to-Man story].
