Humility is the simplicity of seeing things as they are: that you are absolutely dependent on Christ the Head and Christ the Body. Humility is awareness of your need for every single experience and gift that Christ has given to the church, including the free gifts of forgiveness for sin, water baptism, baptism in the Holy Spirit, imparted gifts of the Spirit, righteousness, holiness, redemption (freedom from slavery to sin). Humility also gives you a vision of your need for Christ the Body. This includes every gift, ministry, and office in every member, every order God has set in His Body, every doctrine Christ has revealed to His holy apostles, every administration of government in the church, the assembling together of the Christ the Body and all the ministry that occurs through that order, and every other part of Christ the Body. Humility also allows you to see your dependence on all the little things that God brings into your life--every blessing and every test. Humility shows you that God is working all things to bring about His good purpose, which is your conformity to the image of Jesus. Humility enlightens the eyes of your understanding to see your dependence on the Hand of God as He uses every circumstance to mold you and prepare you to become the ministry that He has ordained you to be in Christ the Body. Humility gives you the vision that allows you to submit to all the authority that God has set, to thank God in all things, and to give honor to whom honor is due. Humility removes the human desire to go where God has not sent you. Humility removes the human desire for recognition, honor, fame, disorderly pleasure, or fortune. Pride is the lack of ability to see this.
