The apostles receive the revelation and equip the Body with it:

• Matthew 16:17 "And Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it to thee, but my Father which is in heaven."

Here, Jesus tell Peter that Peter has spoken a word that was revealed to him by God the Father.  It is interesting to note that a few moments later this same Peter speaks by Satan in Matthew 16:21-23.  We all make many mistakes.  We need to stay humble before God.

The battleground is surely for the mind.  We either seek God and hear His voice or we hear and obey the voice of the enemy of our souls.

Let God be true and every man a liar.

Apostles are given the responsibility of protecting the entire flock of God from the attack of the enemy, but with so many voices in the world, each one claiming to be the one that should be listened to, how can you know? You are responsible to be close enough to God so that you can tell the difference between false apostles and real apostles.
