1 And Jesus entered into a ship and passed over and came into His own city. 2 And, look, they brought Him one who was paralyzed, lying on a bed, and Jesus, seeing their supernatural belief and trust, said to one paralyzed, "Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you." 3 And, certain of the scribes said within themselves, "This man blasphemes." 4 And Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, "Why do you think evil in your innermost minds? 5 For which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, 'Arise, and walk?' 6 But so that you may know that the Son of man has power on Earth to forgive sins, (then He said to the one paralyzed,) "Arise, take up your bed, and go into your house." 7 And the one paralyzed arose and went into his house. 8 But when the crowd saw it, they stood in awe and glorified God Who had given such power to human beings. 9 And as Jesus went on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector's booth and He said to him, "Follow Me." And Matthew arose, and followed Him. 10 As Jesus sat eating in the house, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples. 11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, "Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners? 12 But when Jesus heard that, He said to them, "Those who are strong and robust don't need a doctor but those who are sick do. 13 But go and learn what this means, 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice, for I have not come to call the righteous but sinners into a new mind.'" 14 Then the disciples of John came to Him saying, "Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples don't fast?" 15 And Jesus said to them, "Can the guests of the Bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. 16 No one puts a piece of new cloth to an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up takes from the garment, and the tear is made worse. 17 Nor do people put new wine into old bottles, otherwise the bottles break and the wine runs out, and the bottles are ruined, but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved." 18 While He spoke these things to them, a certain ruler came and knelt before Him, saying, "My daughter just died, but come and lay your hand upon her, and she shall live." 19 And Jesus arose and followed him and so did His disciples. 20 And, a woman, who had been bleeding for twelve years, came behind Him and touched the hem of His garment: 21 For she said within herself, "If I only touch His cloak, I shall be well." 22 But Jesus turned around, and, when He saw her, He said, "Daughter, be of good comfort; your supernatural belief and trust, has made you well. And the woman was made well from that moment." 23 And when Jesus came into the ruler's house and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, 24 He said to them, "Leave, for the girl is not dead but sleeps." And they laughed to ridicule Him. 25 But when the people were put out, He went in and took her by the hand, and the maid arose. 26 And the report of this went out into all that land. 27 And when Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed Him, calling out, "Son of David, have mercy on us." 28 And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him, and Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord." 29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, "According to your supernatural belief and trust, it shall be done to you. 30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus diligently commanded them, saying, "See that no one knows it." 31 But when they had left, they spread His fame throughout that country. 32 As they went out, they brought a person under the power of a devil, and unable to talk, to Him. 33 And when the devil was driven out, the one who had been unable to speak spoke, and the crowd marveled, saying, "It never appeared in this way in Israel." 34 But the Pharisees said, "He drives out devils through the prince of the devils." 35 And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the gospel of the Kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion on them, because they were despondent, weary, and thrown down, as sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few; 38 Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest so that He will send out laborers into His harvest."
