Paradigms

A paradigm is a fake reality.  It is a complete worldview, a lying vision, a lie, that resides in a human mind.  It is interesting that God gives us a vision of reality whenever He speaks to us.  On the other hand, the liar, Satan, gives a vision of unreality in our minds.  A vision of unreality is a paradigm.

An easy way to understand a paradigm is to experience your own.  In your house is a place that you keep things.  You can look at it right now without going to it.  What are you looking at?  You aren't looking at real reality but a construction in your mind that may or may not be accurate.  Paradigms contain error.  Your theologies become part of your paradigm, which is why it is a good thing to hold them loosely.  When an Atheist reads this, the Atheist says to himself, "I don't have a theology."  However, the Atheistic theology includes Atheism, Naturalism, Materialism, Uniformitarianism, Relativism, and Rationalism if the Atheist has a consistent worldview/paradigm.  It may also include Moralism, Scientism, and other factors.  Paradigms cause inability to process reality as it really is.

The Truth is a vision from Jesus Christ.  What we often don't realize is that lies are visions from Satan.  A vision takes in all the senses and becomes a relatively permanent part of the mind.  When Satan spoke to Eve about the forbidden fruit, God had given the Truth to Eve.  Satan questioned what God had said and put a little twist on it.  Then, Satan proposed an alternate story, a paradigm.  Satan was planting seeds into Eve's mind.  Eve decided to believe Satan rather than God.  This gave root to the plantings of Satan in Eve's mind.  That was the beginning of all the sorrows that we see today.

Paradigms are deceptive because paradigms appear to be actual reality to those who are captured by them.  It is very difficult to determine what part of those things we see are being processed by the eye itself, by the nervous system, or by the mind.  Paradigms are powerful filters that filter out real reality.  If any evidence comes to the person under the spell of the paradigm, that evidence is filtered out.  The first thing the person will do is to try to dismiss the evidence that doesn’t fit in with the paradigm-summary dismissal.  If that fails, then the person who is blinded by the paradigm will attempt to explain away the evidence that doesn’t fit in the  paradigm.  When that fails, the person may adjust the paradigm or else create a paradigm that allows for two mutually exclusive ideas—that is, they allow an irrational paradigm.  Most, if not all, paradigms contain these types of irrational elements, which is why people are very protective of their own paradigms.  It is painful, a kind of death, to realize that one’s own paradigm is irrational (insane).  When evidence comes in that is far enough outside the paradigm, the person under the spell of the paradigm cannot see the evidence.  The evidence becomes like an optical illusion to them.

Jesus said, "If anyone desires to follow me, let that person deny himself or herself and take up his or her cross and follow Me.  For whoever desires to save his mind shall lose it: and whoever will lose his mind for my sake shall find it.  For what advantage would people have if they gain the whole world and lose their own mind? Or what will people give in exchange for their mind?  For the Son of man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He shall reward all people according to their works."

 Let’s look at some Scripture.

Scripture on the Lie

“You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”  John 8:44

“But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled your innermost mind to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?”  Acts 5:3

“Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the supernatural belief and trust, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;”  1 Timothy 4:1

“And the great dinosaur was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the Earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”  Revelation 12:9

“They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen.”  Romans 1:25

"Whoever says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person.”  1 John 2:4

“Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son.”  1 John 2:22

“If a man says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar: for he that loves not his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?”  1 John 4:20
