|2 Timothy 2:19, Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure,|
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
(ALT) Nevertheless, [the] foundation of God has stood firm, having this seal [fig., inscription], "The Lord knew the ones being His," and "Let every one naming the name of [the] Lord depart from unrighteousness." [cp. Numbers 16:5 (LXX); Nahum 1:7]
(ASV) Howbeit the firm foundation of God standeth, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his: and, Let every one that nameth the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness.
(BBE) But God's strong base is unchanging, having this sign, The Lord has knowledge of those who are his: and, Let everyone by whom the name of the Lord is named be turned away from evil.
(Darby) Yet the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, The Lord knows those that are his; and, Let every one who names the name of the Lord withdraw from iniquity.
(KJV+) Nevertheless3305 the foundation2310 of God2316 standeth2476 sure,4731 having2192 this5026 seal,4973 The Lord2962 knoweth1097 them that are5607 his.848 And,2532 Let every one3956 that nameth3687 the3588 name3686 of Christ5547 depart868 from575 iniquity.93
(LITV) However, the foundation of God stands firm, having this seal, "The Lord knew the ones being His;" see Num. 16:5, 7, also, Let everyone naming the name of Christ depart from unrighteousness.
(MKJV) Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal: "The Lord knew those who are His." And, "Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity!"
(WNT) Yet God's solid foundation stands unmoved, bearing this inscription, "THE LORD KNOWS THOSE WHO REALLY BELONG TO HIM." And this also, "LET EVERY ONE WHO NAMES THE NAME OF THE LORD RENOUNCE ALL WICKEDNESS."
(YLT) sure, nevertheless, hath the foundation of God stood, having this seal, `The Lord hath known those who are His,' and `Let him depart from unrighteousness--every one who is naming the name of Christ.'
Let God be true and every man a liar.
Apostles are given the responsibility of protecting the entire flock of God from the attack of the enemy, but with so many voices in the world, each one claiming to be the one that should be listened to, how can you know? You are responsible to be close enough to God so that you can tell the difference between false apostles and real apostles.
