|A Word About Blogs and Revelational Apologetics|
A word about blogs and playing to the crowd. It has become popular among ungodly people to troll for Christians on Christian websites or public places, looking for an argument.
Jesus said, "If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace will rest on them; if not, it will return to you. . . . when you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into its streets and say, Even the dust of your town we wipe from our feet as a warning to you. Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God has come near.'" So look for an open door, an open mind. Don't try to beat anyone into submission who does not want Jesus. You will sense the one who promotes peace because your peace (the peace of Christ) will rest upon them and you will sense it. When you sense that your peace returns to you rather than resting on a person, then let them know that they bear the responsibility before God for their decision, that you have said what God had for you to say, and that they can be sure of this, the Kingdom of God has come near to them. Speak as the very mouthpiece of God. Speak the words that He gives you and nothing more.
To put this page together, quite a bit of research was done in the form of going to blogs, reading what people were writing, and commenting and seeing what kinds of responses would come in. In the process, it was discovered that the atheists who come onto Christian blogs have the same spirit as those who are dealing with deep Satan worship. You can actually feel the evil. And reading the blog posts by atheists revealed that they never come to repentance on the blogs. Isn't that interesting. This leads to the question whether the Holy Spirit would ever lead anyone to go onto to the blogs in hopes of turning anyone to Christ. Matthew 10:14 "If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet." Acts 13:46 "Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: "We had to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles." Now, we hate to judge someone as unworthy, but Christ is saying something to us through Scripture.
It became evident that many Christians think that they are being very brave in going to these websites. There is no risk. The only risk is that someone will be rude. The entire interaction is impersonal. It seems to be doomed for failure.
Part of the problem is the motivation of the trolls. It is political. As soon as things become political, rational thought is thrown out the window. The Atheist's arguments to push their agendas are generally without merit, but that doesn't faze them. Every argument that they bring against Christ or the Bible is built on rationalizations: made-up stories, arbitrary assumptions, irrational statements, and outright lies. And they have politicized every biblical issue.
Atheists have been involved politically for over a century trying to gain enough political power to silence the Gospel of Christ completely. They have been working in a very organized and zealous way for well over 100 years through the progressive secular humanist movement. They have taken God out of the schools quite successfully using politics. Christians have trouble relating to this, since most Christians are not political to the degree that Atheists are. However, as the church is to Christians, so the government is to Atheists. As tithes and freewill offerings support the work of the church, so taxes support the work of the Atheistic religion. The schools are their way of brainwashing your children. The universities are their seminaries. The museums are their temples. The Internet is a way to spread their message and it bothers them that the message of Christ is being heard.
As Muslims burn churches throughout the world, Atheists are on the blogs to intimidate, to destroy what they can destroy, and to discourage.
They want to control the message. They want their message and no other. If you press them, they will admit this, but not directly.
They will say, "You want to take science out of the schools." You have to understand that, by science, they mean molecules-to-man evolution, old Earth, and Big Bang, none of which have every been observed. These are not science. And what they don't want is for anyone to do any critical thinking about these fake "sciences." They will also say things about stopping evil Christians who do all kinds of crimes against humanity. This may sound insane, because it is. But they are looking for an Atheist state like Red China, North Korea, or the USSR. In fact, they want a one-world government that they hope will eliminate all followers of Christ.
"When evolution is seen as a storytelling game rather than a serious attempt at scientific explanation, it suddenly makes sense." The same goes for other stories such as big bang or old earth.
We don't walk in fear of this. It is normal. They are rejecting Christ, so they will reject the Christ in you. Jesus predicted all of this. The violent Atheist movement is the fulfillment of prophecy.
While you can shut these people down using revelational apologetics, it seems that people who have stooped this low are so calloused in their sins that they are impervious to any reason. They just don't want to acknowledge God because they love their sins. They love darkness rather than light and make a conscious choice to reject the One Who is Light. Blogs are not the only place you meet such people, but when people can remain anonymous, you will have trouble ever connecting with them personally and influencing them. When there is a crowd, everything is playing to the crowd. People like Ray Comfort have used this playing to the crowd, not to help the ungodly heckler, but to help the people in the crowd. If you can meet with the unsaved in person privately, there is some chance to listen to all that they have to say, gently challenge it by asking how they know, and wait for some opening where they are willing to actually listen. At a certain point, you can say, "Would you like to hear why Jesus Christ is the Foundation of my life?" That's just an example of the type of thing that the Holy Spirit may drop into your mind to say to this person. It's not part of a canned pitch. Comparing lies to revelation on a blog
