Peter Chapter 4

Since it is true that Christ has suffered for us in the flesh, furnish yourselves with the same understanding also, for those who have suffered in the flesh are restrained from sin, * *
no longer spending their lives for human fleshly desires for forbidden things but following God's will for the remaining time living in the body.
For in the time past during our lives we may have been satisfied to have done the will of the majority when we pursued unrestrained desires for forbidden things, drunkenness, wild parties, drinking parties, and unlawful idolatry.
Because of this, they think it's strange that you don't run with them into the same overflowing wickedness, so they speak evil of you:
They shall give an account to Him Who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
For into this cause the gospel was also preached to those who are dead that they might be judged in their bodies, as it is with all humans, but live toward God in the spirit.
But the end of all things is drawing near. Therefore enter into prayer with a sound mind and a calm spirit.
And above all things have fervent love among yourselves: for love shall cover the multitude of sins.
Be hospitable to one another without grudging.
As everyone has received the charisma gift, even so minister/serve the many-faceted divine power for righteousness, holiness, and redemption of God to each other as managers of His property.
If anyone speaks, speak as the very mouth of God; if anyone minister/serve, do it by the power furnished and directed by God so that God may be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion into the ages of the ages. Amen.
Beloved, don't think that the refining fire, which is to tempt you, is strange as though some strange thing happened to you.
But rejoice since you come Into fellowship with Christ's sufferings; that, when His glory shall be unveiled, you may also rejoice with exceeding joy. *
If you are criticized for the name of Christ you are happy, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. They speak evil of God, but you glorify God.
But don't suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or a person who tries to meddle with or direct other people's lives.
Yet [if you suffer] as a Christ-follower, don't be ashamed, but glorify God in this situation.
For the time has come that judgment must begin at the house of God, and, if it begins with us first, how will it end up for those who refuse to believe and obey the good news of God?
And if it is difficult for the righteous to be saved, where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?
For this reason, let those who suffer when they are in the will of God trust Him, the faithful Creator, to direct their minds toward doing what is right.
