Does the Bible Say that the Black People Are Cursed? |
The Bible says we are all one race. The Bible says that we are all under the curse because of sin. The Bible says that in Christ we are delivered from the curse. Of course, we have to want to be delivered from sin. Some people like sin regardless of the color of their skin.
Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of his Cushite (descendant of Cush, son of Ham) wife. Miriam and Aaron were out of the will of God. Apparently Miriam spoke out the loudest and God struck her with leprosy. Moses prayed for her and she was healed. Some people say that Cush was "black." This may or may not be true. If it is true that she was dark-skinned, this blows the curse idea.
Song of Solomon 1:5 You can check out the commentary on the link here. It appears to be the Church or the believer speaking, saying, "I am dark but beautiful." Evolution predicted races. That would mean that black people would have come from an ape-like ancestor. And, the story goes that white people were also descendants of the same ape-like ancestor but from a different lineage and, as a result, are a superior race. That's not talked about so much any more, but some of these egg-heads still believe it.
This theology has also been used to justify slavery and prejudice.
New genetic information proves the evolutionistic doctrine to be false. In fact, we are all one race just as the Bible says. If you have two adults who are medium brown skinned, they would have potential to produce every known shade of pigment within just a few generations.
The thing about Ham is an old theology. It appears to have been taught by the Mormons. I have heard it from Christians, too. It certainly requires many assumptions. If you allow yourself a single assumption, you can prove anything to yourself--ANYTHING. One of the problems that we humans have is that assumptions quickly are forgotten to be assumptions. We begin to think they are facts pretty quick. At that point, they become part of the fake-reality that each of us carries around in our innermost minds. This fake-reality, sometimes called a paradigm or a worldview, seems more real to us than real reality. In fact, this fake-reality filters out real reality.
So, what is our hope? Jesus is the Truth, another word for Reality. The Holy Spirit is here to teach us about the Truth, Jesus, the real Reality. We are hopeless in ourselves, but by yielding to the Holy Spirit continually, He will continue to lead us. That's why there are always higher heights and deeper depths. We hold our theology loosely so that the Holy Spirit can teach us. Often, a life event is the only thing that will dislodge us from our fake-realities, the world in our hearts.
