| v6 Strange Woman |
|
Proverbs 5:6 speaks of a wayward woman, but the natural mind follows the same pattern. It won't allow you to ponder the path of life. For that, you need the Holy Spirit. And the ways of the natural human mind are moveable ways so you cannot possibly know them. When you think you understand, they change. These are the changeable ways of rationalism and post-modernism. There is nothing new about post-modernism; the natural mind has always been a liar. Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them. (KJV) Lest thou shouldst ponder the path of life, her ways are movable, that thou canst not know them. (WBS) Lest she should walk the even path of life, her ways wander, but she knoweth it not. (JPS) Proverbs 5:6 She gives no thought to the way of life. Her ways are crooked, and she doesn't know it. (WEB) So that she findeth not the level path of life: Her ways are unstable, and'she knoweth it not. (ASV) She never keeps her mind on the road of life; her ways are uncertain, she has no knowledge. (BBE) Lest she should ponder the path of life, her ways wander, she knoweth not whither. (DBY) The path of life -- lest thou ponder, Moved have her paths -- thou knowest not. (YLT)
