Revelation 3:10 God generally keeps His people through the trial and does not entirely take them away from the trial

Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth

God generally keeps His people through the trial and does not entirely take them away from the trial.  He puts them into a place in Himself where they are safe from the trial. We see this in the fiery furnace, at the Red Sea, and in many other places.  However, there are times when God removes people from the trial.  This looks like it could be such a promise to this one Church regarding a trial that was going to happen quite soon.  There is a general application.  To apply it to the ever popular pre-trib rapture theory would be an awful stretch, but we can see where this applies.  When the righteous die, God is simply sparing them from the trials and testings of the present evil age.  The come to be at peace with Him. (Isaiah 57:1)
