If you are born again, you are heading toward a goal. When you're heading toward a goal, you want to understand the goal, you want to have a vision of where that goal is so that, when you arrive, you end up in the right place.

We need to get a new nature that is only available through Jesus.  Here is why:

John 8:41-44 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, [even] God.   Jesus said to them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.   Why do ye not understand my speech? [even] because ye cannot hear my word.   Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 

Most people don't even understand what sin is.

Don't defend yourself.  Have you ever lied?  Then, in God's sight, you are a liar. 

Time does not forgive sins.  A righteous judge does not acquit the guilty and God is a righteous judge.  Sure, He's merciful, which is why He sent His only unique Son, Jesus, but he will not be merciful toward any who reject Jesus.  Hell is real.

Have you ever stolen any small thing?  Then you have broken the law.  Stealing makes you guilty.  If you have broken any part of the law you are guilty of all the law.  Have you ever lusted?  Then you are guilty of adultery.  Have you ever used the name of the Almighty, All-knowing, Holy, Creator God as a curse word?  Then you are guilty of the second commandment and your conscience condemns you.  Saying you are sorry does not pay the debt you owe.  That doesn't even work with worldly bill collectors, and you can't fool God.  Someone needs to pay the price.  Jesus is the only one who is qualified to pay the price and He has paid it.

Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Rom 6:22-23 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit to holiness, and the end everlasting life.  For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The language is simple and easy to understand.  Believing what the Almighty Creator God says requires the miracle of faith, however.

Rom 6:6-22 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with [him], that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.  For he that is dead is freed from sin.   Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:   Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.   For in that he died, he died to sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth to God.   Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God through Jesus Christ our Lord.   Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.   Neither yield ye your members [as] instruments of unrighteousness to sin: but yield yourselves to God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members [as] instruments of righteousness to God.   For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.   What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.   Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?   But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.   Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.   I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity to iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness to holiness.   For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.   What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things [is] death.   But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit to holiness, and the end everlasting life.
