2 Timothy 2:19, Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, |
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 2Ti 2:19 (ALT) Nevertheless, [the] foundation of God has stood firm, having this seal [fig., inscription], "The Lord knew the ones being His," and "Let every one naming the name of [the] Lord depart from unrighteousness." [cp. Numbers 16:5 (LXX); Nahum 1:7] (ASV) Howbeit the firm foundation of God standeth, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his: and, Let every one that nameth the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness. (BBE) But God's strong base is unchanging, having this sign, The Lord has knowledge of those who are his: and, Let everyone by whom the name of the Lord is named be turned away from evil. (Darby) Yet the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, The Lord knows those that are his; and, Let every one who names the name of the Lord withdraw from iniquity. And this also, "LET EVERY ONE WHO NAMES THE NAME OF THE LORD RENOUNCE ALL WICKEDNESS."
