Paul, the apostolic elder's second letter to Timothy, who was an apostolic deacon working under Paul's direction. 1. the faith of Timothy's mother and grandmother--stir up the gift that is in you by the laying on of my hands-- 2. be strong--unashamed worker--foundation--no speculations 3. difficult times coming--the form of godliness but denying the power, ever learning but never coming to the knowledge of the truth--all Scripture is God-breathed: the make the man of God complete and furnished for good works 4. preach the word: reprove, rebuke, exhort, patience, instruction--time coming when they won't endure sound doctrine, looking for teachers who will teach them what they want to be true
