Loki's Wager FallacyLoki's wager is one of the many smokescreens that are used to cover the fact that the reasoning is based on one of the three fallacies of Agrippa's trilemma. Whenever a logical fallacy is committed, the fallacy has its roots in Agrippa's trilemma. All human thought (without Divine revelation) is based on one of three unhappy possibilities. These three possibilities are infinite regress, circular reasoning, or axiomatic thinking. This problem is known as Agrippa's trilemma. Some have claimed that only logic and math can be known without Divine revelation; however, that is not true. There is no reason to trust either logic or math without Divine revelation. Science is also limited to the pragmatic because of the weakness on human reasoning, which is known as Agrippa's trilemma. The Loki's Wager Fallacy occurs when it is unreasonably insisted that a concept cannot be defined and therefore cannot be discussed. Examples of the Loki's Wager Fallacy
Bill is saying that you cannot know anything about God; therefore, God is not up for discussion. He then goes into an irrational explanation of why he thinks that this supports evolution as an explanation of how everything just created itself. Taken to its most basic form, "We can't know about God; therefore, nothing created everything." Of course, there is a lot of hand-waving and misdirection in the Big-Bang-Billions-of-Years-No-Flood-Molecules-to-Man story to keep people's mind off of the irrationality of it all. Besides this, you can know about God. You can't know everything about Him, but there is nothing about which you can know everything. The fact is that everyone who seeks Jesus Christ in sincerity, respect, submission, and persistence finds Jesus Christ. There are no exceptions. Many people become Christians and never find Christ. They have a rationalized faith rather than the faith that comes from hearing His Voice. However, those who stand in His Presence are directed by Him. They hear His Voice directing them moment-by-moment. They may lose contact from time to time, but they can return. They are learning to live their lives in Christ rather than depending on the human mind which is subject to Agrippa's Trilemma, which destroys all secular thinking. You may know this as Münchhausen Trilemma or Albert's Trilemma. A chain of thought is as strong as its weakest link. This chain must begin with something that is absolute, but all that is available to the human mind is infinite regress, circular reasoning, or axiomatic thinking. Christ, on the other hand, gives Divine revelation. He continues to teach and lead. Therefore, He is the way that leads to the genuine and absolute fullness of life of the coming Age. And He is also that Life. The walk with Christ is ever upward to higher heights and deeper depths in Him.
