v11 Apples of Gold in Pictures of Silver |
This Scripture, Proverbs 25:11 "A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver." This Scripture is quite a challenge to understand. It means much more than simple advice that we ought to speak well and that this is somehow good.
So an utterance that comes from God and that is spoken by the unction of the Holy Spirit is like the fruit of the Spirit that is seen in a vision of freedom from the devil, the world, and our sinful flesh and fully functioning as a member in the Body of Christ, which is the New Jerusalem or the Kingdom of the Heavens. This has to do with the perfect law of liberty. When a man has faith but no works, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror and immediately forgets what he looks like. Every time God leads us, we look into that mirror of the perfect law of liberty. We see ourselves not after the flesh but as the ministry, the Christ within, and we see something of how we fit into Christ the Body. When we see Him in this way, we are changed to be like Him in some small portion, and this continues from glory to glory. ![]()
