Self Christianity: Self Esteem & Self Worth
There is a worth that is rationalized by the natural mind. This self-worth is useless. The worth that God sees in us is so much higher. God sees our ministry, our place of service. God sees the Christ living in us. God sees us as those who are dying daily to self and living to Christ. God does not want us to look at ourselves as the natural man, the old Adam, the self that is capable of sin. He wants us to know that we have that old nature so that we know that we have to keep walking in the Spirit and dying to self, but God doesn't want us identifying with our old nature. He wants us identifying with Christ. Romans 7:16-17 If then I do that which I would not, I consent to the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 2 Timothy 3:1&2 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Philippians 2:3 He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread. Proverbs 12:9 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. Romans 7:18
