Apostles Build the Church:
- The apostles have the responsibility to perfect the saints, which is to say to bring them into completeness, to fully equip them. They equip them with doctrine and revelation of the Scripture, with the gifts of the Spirit, with government, with local elders and deacons, with the orders and the pattern of the church that God is building, with the foundation on which to build and with many other things. shows that an apostle must be able to lay the foundation:
- Ephesians 4:12-16 "For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body to the edifying of itself in love."
- 1 Corinthians 3:10-11 "According to the grace of God which is given to me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ."
How can we know anything about anything? That’s the real question
