Tolerance?

Religion of Tolerance?

Many Muslims have trouble with the way that other Muslims act.

Those who are truly seeking the truth as all Muslims and Christians are supposed to do, are willing to seriously consider that they do not know everything and that they might possibly not be right about something.  They are willing to allow God to show them the truth even if the truth does not agree with what they have been taught.  The dogmatism and intolerance for the truth among many of the leaders of Islam is confusing to Muslims who are seeking the truth.

Those how are truly seeking peace are appalled by the violence that is constantly being reported among Muslims.

"Islam is a religion of tolerance."  Look, if Abdul Rahman renounces his Christianity, all will be forgiven and they won't even kill him.  Muslims who are honest can see that this is not tolerance, and it bothers them.  It makes them question their own religion.  In the same ways, the Liberals want Christians to be tolerant, but they want to define tolerance for liberalism as all Christians becoming liberals and renouncing their Christian beliefs.  That is a strange definition.  The Devil was a liar from the beginning and things have not changed

One of the problems that Muslims have with Christians is the fact that liberal Christians promote sinful things.  The liberals have a very high level of control over the many methods of communication, the print media, education, motion pictures, news media, etc.  For this reason, liberal Christian opinions are held out as representative of all Christ-followers.  However, when a Muslim meets a Christian who is actually following Christ, who hears Christ's voice at every moment, this makes an impact.

Many Muslims feel that those parts of the Koran that encourage violence no longer apply.  Some think that those hateful passages still do apply, and they try to coerce those Muslims who don't think those parts of the Koran should be followed.  It seems that the violent people always win in the end.  What hope is there for the peaceful Muslim?

A 2010 Pew Research Poll found that 84 percent of Egyptians favor the death penalty for people who leave the Muslim religion, while a second Pew Research Poll found that 90 percent of Egyptians say they believe in freedom of religion. Pew also found that a majority of Egyptians think democracy, with protections of free speech and assembly, is "preferable to any other kind of government."  Sincere Muslims who desire to follow God can see that this is not a consistent way of thinking?  There is a conflict here.

Lord, grant grace that these fellow created human beings may turn to You with their whole heart and be filled with Your love.  May they see that You have paid the price for their sins and that You and You alone are their strength and salvation.  Give them of Your humility, Lord, that they can see the reality that they cannot, in themselves, produce any good work.  Show them that by accepting the Way that You alone have provided, they can have their sins washed away and be assured of heaven.  Show them that Christ, both God and man, died to free them from their sin so that they would no longer be slaves of the devil.  Lord, show this same thing to all the Christians who walk as if they still have to be slaves of Satan.  Finish the work in all of us, Lord.
