| v21 True Unity |
|
This prayer of Jesus will be answered. The coming together of the body of Christ. John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. Many have tried to find a way to make this happen. This does NOT mean that we agree to disagree. Read the Scripture. Pray for understanding and the Word of God will become clear. That is the only way to understand anything. It says: that they also may be one in us. That is a little bit different. We are not used to thinking about such a great salvation. It's uncomfortable to think that we have such a tremendous journey before us. We would like to think that we are close, but we have to walk to come to the fullness of Christ. God's intent is that, as the Father is in Jesus and as Jesus is in the Father, that they will also be one in us. We may not be fully able to understand what God means at this point, but we can walk into it step by step from glory to ever increasing glory. When we have the mind of Christ, we will no longer think our own thoughts. Proverbs makes it plain that God is the source of all knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. We need to explore the heavenly realm and taste and see that the Lord is good. God has given us a vision of this hope, but He also invites us to know Him. And this is eternal life, to know God. When we have the mind of Christ, we will no longer follow our own leading. We will no longer be fleshly minded, which is death. We will be spiritually minded, which is life. The natural man cannot be reformed. The natural man must die. We must die to self and live to Christ. We must seek His leading with the whole heart. We must give ourselves over to Him and yield to the moving of His Spirit. When we have the mind of Christ, we will no longer say our own words. There will be no need for prophecy. Prophecy will cease because every word we speak will flow from the Throne of Grace. As Jesus never spoke His own words, so we will never speak our own words. When we have the mind of Christ, we will no longer do our own works. We will always to the will of our Father. Yet, it will never be us who is doing the works, but grace which dwells in us Who does the works.
How can we know anything about anything? That’s the real question |
