| The Judgment |
|
Revelation 20:10-15, And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. By the blood of Jesus, you don't have to be cast into the lake of fire. If you haven't received Him yet, pray right now. Ask Him to come into your heart. Is seems that there are many people who don't think that a good God would judge. The truth is that a good God must judge. Because He is the creator, He has the authority to judge and the responsibility to judge. Because He is all-knowing, He has the ability to judge perfectly. He judges because He needs a perfect creation to be reconciled to Himself. It may take until the Ages of the Ages to reconcile all things to Himself, but His intent is to do just that--to reconcile all things to Himself.
God's judgments are remedial. That being said, God uses the least harsh judgment that He can. The human heart is rebellious and sometimes forces God's hand. God starts by speaking to us very quietly. He asks us to receive Jesus. Some people will not receive Jesus. Some people would like to use Jesus for forgiveness while trying to keep their favorite sins--as though God were a fool and would not notice. Some people want receive Christ but not be obedient to His direction in their life. They don't want to attend church. They want to turn the church into something that is not the church: maybe an entertainment or a club or a corporation. Some don't want to honor the authority that God has set into the offices in the church. When we are obedient, we walk into a deeper relationship with God and our spiritual senses are hightened. When we are not obedient, things get harder. In ourself, we become calloused against God. On God's part, He has to deal with us more harshly. He won't hear our prayers because we won't listen to him. His desire is to turn us around so that we walk in submission to Him. If we continue to contend with God, to argue with Him and negotiate, we can find that His judgment can be very severe. The most severe judgment is the lake of fire. Click to understand how you can be born again?
