Obstructions to stating opposing opinions would consist of ways to make someone feel bad, punish them financially, or cause them to fear for stating opposing opinions.

  • Trying to restrict the ability to convey the idea
  • Examples
    • Shouting and chanting to drown out any voice of dissent
    • Physical threats against those holding a Christian viewpoint
    • Fairness Doctrine
    • Federal Funding of the protected argument: global warming, evolution, etc.
    • Federal restrictions on Churches regarding taking a stand for a Christian candidate over a secularist candidate
    • Job discrimination against Christians
    • Workplace shunning of Christians
