Define Broided:

  1. braided

This word, plegma, is only used once in the Bible, in 1 Timothy 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with honor and soundness of mind, not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array. 10 but (which is fitting for women professing godliness) with good works.

4117 plegma pleg’-mah
from 4120; ; n n
AV-broidered hair 1; 1
1) what is woven, plaited, or twisted together
2) a web, plait, braid
2a) of a net
2b) of a basket, in which the infant Moses was laid
2c) of braided hair

This is not to say that women are not allowed to make themselves look nice, but dress, hair, etc. is not to be the source of their beauty as verse 10 makes clear. There is to be an inner beauty that shows itself in good works. There is also some evidence that these descriptions ("braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array") were used for harlots as a kind of advertisement. There is another point: neither men nor women ought to dress in such a way as to bring attention to themselves, since the attention is to be on King Jesus--the Holy Spirit may use this Scripture to say this to some.
