God's Process and Pattern

God’s Process and Pattern

The next great event on the horizon is the manifestation of the sons of God. (Ro. 8:19) After this, the overcomers will reign with Christ in His Kingdom. This will be much more wonderful than what we could imagine, but how do we get there?  God has a process and a pattern for accomplishing His purpose.  God’s process is this: He leads and we respond in submission.  God’s process is walking in the Spirit.  It is by grace through faith.  God’s Pattern consists of every order, gift, ministry, and office in the Church as described in the Bible. God intertwined His pattern and process so that they depend on each other.  God’s pattern requires God’s process and is dead without it.  God’s process always leads us into God’s pattern for God’s Holy Temple, God’s Kingdom, and only functions properly in His pattern. By God’s process and pattern we walk from glory to glory until we all come into such a unity that we rise as one corporate Man, in total unity and submission to Christ the Head and Christ the Body with each member fully mature in God’s process and pattern.  The gifts (1Co 12:1-10), ministries (1Co 12:28-30), offices (Tit 1:5, 1 Ti 3:1-13, 1 Ti 5:19, 1 Pe 5:1, Jas 5:14, ) and orders such as head covering & communion (1 Co 11), assembly (1 Co 14) , finance (1 Co 16:2), revelation (Eph 3:5, 1 Tim 1:3-4), and home (Eph 5-6) are becoming the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. (Eph. 4:11-13)

God’s Process: God has a process for righteousness, holiness, and redemption. (1 Co 1:30) God gives us His Own righteousness as a free gift (grace). (Ro. 5:17) In simple terms, this is how God does that: God speaks, we hear and acknowledge, faith comes, faith accesses grace, grace does the work as we yield.  We reap what we sow.  God’s works plant holy seed to transfigure us from glory to glory into His holiness and redemption (freedom from sin’s slavery).

Righteousness always starts with God—we can’t initiate it.  God leads.  He speaks in many ways, especially through the members of Christ the Body, through ministries. (1 Cor. 12:3) Here is the process: 1. Faith comes by hearing the word (literally, utterance) of God. (Ro. 10:17) 2. Hearing requires humility and reverence, which is the beginning of wisdom. (Pr. 9:10) 3. Faith gives access to God’s grace (Ro. 5:2) including the free gift of righteousness.  (Ro. 5:17, Ro. 10:3, Isa. 45:8, Heb. 12:28)  4. Grace does the work of God in us. (1 Cor. 15:10)  5. We are changed a bit (holiness & redemption).

These five steps take only a moment and continue moment by moment perpetually.  This is God’s process for righteousness in thought, word, and deed, bringing us from glory to glory.  Of course, we can slow, stop, or reverse our progress by ignoring, adding to, or taking from God’s leading or by trying to self-generate works. Anything that is not of faith is sin. (Ro. 14:23) Righteousness is love. (Ro. 5:5, Ro. 13:8-10, Gal. 5:13-14, James 2:8) Righteousness always leads toward the establishment of God’s pattern.

To understand this further, when we hear His voice, we look into the perfect law of liberty.  We see ourselves, the ministry, Christ in us, as opposed to the fleshly man of sin. We see ourselves in the context of Christ the Body, every order, ministry, and office. When we respond to the leading of God by allowing Him to do His work through us, we respond to the perfect law of liberty. (James 1:22-25)

This transfigures us. God’s righteousness brings holiness and redemption. (Ro. 6:19, 1 Cor. 1:30, 2 Cor. 3:18) When we discern Christ, we see Him as He is and become like Him. (1 John 3:2, James 1:22-25, 1 Cor. 13:9-12) If you are born again, the spiritual man is your spirit joined to the Holy Spirit plus that part of your mind that is conformed to His image. The flesh is your body, which is still in Satan’s influence, and that part of your mind still in slavery to your body.

While righteousness is in the moment, holiness is a transfiguration of what you are, a change in your mind.  When you turn to Jesus instead of your own understanding, God plants His holy seed and the fruit of the Spirit springs up. (Hos. 8:7, Gal. 6:7-9) Holiness is Christ (your ministry) formed in you. (Gal. 4:19) It is progressive from glory to glory and from faith to faith. (Ro. 1:17) Holiness brings redemption. Redemption is freedom from sin’s bondage.

God’s Pattern: God has plainly revealed His pattern in Scripture for individual lives, families, homes, local churches, and the church universal—every part, situation, and aspect in every moment of every day. See, says God, that you build all things according to the pattern. (Heb. 8:5, Ezek. 43:8-10) The Church abandoned God's pattern in the early centuries after Jesus ascended and gave gifts to men. (Eph. 4:11) However, God has been restoring His Church to its original glory and purpose.

Every order, gift, ministry, and office must be operating at the direction of the Holy Spirit in perfect submission to Him as He leads and does His work through each member. There is a pattern for the foundation of the church universal. (1 Cor. 3:11, Eph. 2:20) There is a pattern for receiving the understanding of truth and weeding out the error. (Eph. 1:8-9, 2 Peter 1:20, 2 Tim. 2:2, 1 Tim. 1:3) There is a pattern for government of the church universal, local churches, homes, and individual lives. (Eph. 4-6) There is a pattern for the weekly church service (1 Corinthians 14) God has established a way that Christ the Head speaks and leads His flock through Christ the Body. (1 Corinthians 12) There is a pattern for every aspect of our personal lives, the homes, the local churches, and the church universal.

Conclusion: God’s pattern without His process cannot fulfill God’s purpose. (Ro. 8:28-29)

Our individual lives have no relevance outside of Christ the Body. (1 Cor. 12:11) We have been born into this Body and can’t function properly in a disconnected way any more than a part of our physical body could function on its own. If we walk in a disorderly or rebellious way, we are like cancer in the Body. We walk in submission to Christ the Head and Christ the Body, discerning and reverencing Christ in each other. (Eph. 5:21)

Throughout the world, there is a remnant first-fruits company, a called out people, a holy temple in which every joint (the place of union between the members) supplies to build the Church, bringing it to maturity (Eph. 4:16, 1 Cor. 14), using God’s process: righteousness by grace through faith, leading to holiness and redemption (freedom from sin’s slavery).  Everyone builds, comforts, and encourages. God’s wisdom consists of righteousness, holiness, and redemption. God’s wisdom is Christ unveiled in His Church. (1 Cor. 1:30, Eph. 3:10) We are joined into One Body that is growing to fullness through God’s process and pattern. (1 Cor. 12:12-30, Eph. 4:13)
