It is, however, a rare fundamentalist Christian who becomes violent in defense of his or her beliefs. There are some confused persons who does not fully understanding the intent of Christ and His faith, because this is clearly not the teaching of Christ. Peter cut off the ear of one of the men who came to kill Jesus. Jesus put the ear back and healed it. The reality is that the problem is more one of fundamentalists being so timid and afraid of persecution that they will not testify of the hope that is within them.
