Romans 6:14 For Sin Shall Not Have Dominion Over You

Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Sin shall not have dominion over you.  Every person who has not been born again is absolutely controlled by the dominion of sin.  The unsaved can do self-righteousness, but it is not a true righteousness.  All true righteousness flows from the throne of God.  Real righteousness is by grace through faith

Romans 6:13 commands: "Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin: but yield yourselves to God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God."  Now that you are saved, you have this option.  If you take this option, you grow in Christ.  If you still yield your members as instrument s of unrighteousness to sin, then you will never grow in Christ.  You will not take part in the first resurrection.  Your life will be harder, because God will have to use judgment to draw you to Himself.

Romans 6:15-16 says: "What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.  Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?"

Some people don't want to submit to God.  They think they are free, when they are actually slaves of Satan.  They don't know that they have yielded themselves as slaves to sin and since they have yielded themselves as slaves, they are slaves of sin.  It seems pretty obvious and almost to simple to state without seeming redundant.  They are slaves.  They are deceived into thinking that they are free.  Pray for them.  Maybe God will open a door for you to minister to them.

In the same way, those who have been born again can return to being slaves of sin.  How do they do this?  Simply by yielding themselves to sin.  By yielding to sin, they have come into bondage to sin.  They are as if they are in forced labor, tied to an endless treadmill that is killing them.  If this has happened to you, pray that the Holy Spirit come and set you free.  It is the Anointing (Holy Spirit) that breaks every yoke (bondage).
