The Hindu religion has changed.  Some Hindus are theists and others are atheists because you can prove anything at all from the Hindu scriptures.  They say that every person is free to choose his own.  In general, Hindus tend to believe in one impersonal force god who is manifested in many gods and goddesses.  They believe that anything faithfully followed will lead to the ultimate.  All this seems to be self-contradictory, and one Hindu leader has said that Hinduism has opened its arms so wide that when it closes them again it will end up strangling itself.
