When you are born again, you are not born with these gifts of the Spirit. There may be things in your Christian walk that would indicate your future ministry and the gifts that God would like to impart to you through the laying on of hands and the prophesy of the presbytery. (A presbytery is a gathering of elders who are called by God for this purpose.) You may have natural gifts that God will use. But the Spiritual gifts are different from natural gifts. They are the weapons of our warfare. 1Timothy 4:14-15 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Paul was part of the presbytery that prayed and prophesied over Timothy, imparting spiritual gifts to equip him for his ministry:

1 Timothy 1:18 This charge I commit to thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; Here is another: Let God be true and every man a liar. Apostles are given the responsibility of protecting the entire flock of God from the attack of the enemy, but with so many voices in the world, each one claiming to be the one that should be listened to, how can you know?
