The Process of Salvation |
In Romans, we see an ongoing process beginning with being born again and continuing with a moment-by-moment relationship of God leading and faith coming (10:17), grace flowing (5:2), and God working (5:16-21 & 6:3). That is the sequence of the relationship with Christ. Our part is to yield to Him, not in theory but in reality.
God leads us immediately into the Church and leads us to build the Real Church according to the pattern of Scripture. As the (human) body is one and has many members, so also is Christ. (1 Corinthians 12:12) This refers to the Real Church. The Real Church is the way that we grow. (Ephesians 4:11-16) We become what we see. As we remove the veil (the flesh) and see God's glory as if in a mirror (our brothers and sisters in Christ) we are transfigured into the same image from glory to glory by the Spirit of the Lord. (2 Corinthians 3:18) This process begins with faith, which comes by hearing the utterance [literal] of God. Faith gives us access into grace, the free gift. If we will yield, faith does the works that we could never self-generate. (Romans 10:3) These works are called righteousness. This is the love of God, which is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost. (Romans 5:5) This righteousness causes us to grow. Good seed is planted into our hearts by the Holy Ghost. This good seed grows and bears the fruit of the Spirit. Holiness grows in our hearts. Righteousness is what God does through you. Holiness is what God causes you to become. In the process we are set free. Being set free is called redemption. (1 Corinthians 1:30) One day, we will be totally holy and totally free. One day, we will walk into the experience that is called the manifestation of the sons of God and the redemption of our bodies (Romans 8:18-23) and the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. (Ephesians 4:13) This is the relationship. Salvation from sin that is by grace through faith. (Ephesians 2:8-10) Whatever is not of faith is sin. (Romans 14:23)
