You could look at the Kingdom of God and say that it does cost you everything.  If that is how you view it, you must remember that everything that you have is worth nothing.

 
• Everyone in heaven will have joy.  That will cost you your lack of joy.
 
• Everyone in heaven will have peace.  That will cost you your lack of peace.
 
• Everyone in heaven will have love.  That will cost you your lack of love.
 
• Everyone in heaven will be full of light.  That will cost you your darkness.
 
• No one will get into heaven without being holy.  That will cost you your ungodliness.
 
• Everyone in heaven will be full of the glory of God.  That will cost you your emptiness.
 
• You will have to give up your ignorance because of the knowledge that flows from the throne.
 
• your mind will start working as it was designed to work, and that will change a lot of things.  
  
 
• Your foolishness will have to go as the wisdom of God floods in.
 
• Your obsession with trying to find some level of fulfillment will need to go as God gives you total fulfillment.  
  

These are some of the examples.  When that which is complete comes, that which was in part goes away.  The things that are worthless will fall away.  The desperate attempts to find meaning where there is none will go away when the true meaning of life becomes obvious to you.
