God forbids speculation. Science used to mean knowledge. Now it means a process by which we look at evidence in various ways and then make up creative stories about that evidence.

Well, that is not entirely true. There are many definitions of science, and the word, science, is used to confuse those who are not skeptical of the skeptics and Evolutionists.

What is now called science almost always results in people taking up dogmatic positions to defend their creative stories, which they call "scientific facts." Some theologians have done this same thing. They take the Bible and make up creative stories about the Bible, going well beyond what the Bible says.

Peter, James, and John also went beyond what the Scripture of their day said, but they did so on the basis of revelation. The purpose of the apostolic ministry is to keep the revelation pure. There were false prophets and false apostles to be sure. The people of God are responsible to God for being close enough to God that they can discern between the Truth and a lie and between a true apostle and a false apostle.

The speculations in the old earth stories are pretty obvious.
