Joel 2:25-32 The Restoration In The Remnant

Joel 2:25-32 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.  And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.  And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.  And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:  And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.  And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.  The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.  And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

The enemy of our souls was allowed to destroy because the church went into a lukewarm condition when the persecution stopped.  Then, the Bible was restored, though the ones in power killed the men who were used of God to restore it.  They tried to kill Martin Luther, but salvation by grace through faith was restored to the Church.  Then, others were used of God to restore one precept after another.  At the beginning of the 20th century, God poured out His Spirit.  He poured it out again in 1948.  And He continues to pour out His Spirit and unfold His revelation.

What God has been doing is to give gifts to the church that are designed to bring the church to maturity.

Around 1900, He gave the baptism of the Holy Spirit so that the living Christ, Christ in us the hope of glory, may flow out with power.  We really have no power without the flow of this anointing from on high.
Since the outpouring of 1948, He gave gifts of the Spirit so that those gifts, the weapons of our warfare, could be used to bring us into maturity.
From the gifts, the ministries grow.
He restored the apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher.
He restored the local elders and deacons according to the Scriptural pattern.
Gifts of the Spirit are now given according to the Scriptural pattern--by the laying on of hands of a group of elders who have been called by God for this purpose.
The apostles work in unity, each in submission to all the others.
The elders teach no other doctrine.  Every member is important.
The local churches operate according to the pattern of Ephesians 4 and 1 Corinthians 14.
Prophecy flows from every member in the meetings.
Every member is important and has and is a ministry.
The teaching regarding growing up to be a mature "son" of God has been restored.
Each member is called to be separate from the world and holy to God.
As the church walks in obedience and faithfulness, they walk right into that glorious day that is appointed of the Father.

God is not concerned that the majority of Christians are not even aware of His great revival.  God has always worked with a remnant.
